Future Histories Contest
Contest deadline extended to April 2, 2018 — enter soon!
Thank you for submitting your work to Broto’s Future Histories literary/arts contest which is shared with our project partner The Cape Cod Center for Sustainability. The contest submission form is below.
The winners will imagine our world already made environmentally and socially sustainable and, importantly, outline the key steps (real and/or imagined) we took globally to get there. And when do we reach this end game?
Broto’s goal is to showcase future generations that are thriving with the smart innovations, choices and sacrifices we made, however politically, behaviorally or technologically challenging they were. Good ideas will likely trump literary prowess in the judging process.
Contest closes April 2, 2018 – but early submissions can be considered for early publication and online discussion. So, enter early and enter often. There is no cost to enter.
While the contest is set up for maximum 1,000-word written submissions, the organizers are open to other mediums of expression such as, but not limited to, photography, video, art and dance.
The news release announcing the contest is here.
A jury of Cape Cod arts, scientists and writers will decide the winners, and may not award prizes if there are no worthy submissions. First place is $1,000, while second is $500.
While the rights of the work submitted remain with the originating artist, the prize organizers retain the right to edit work submitted and publish on the broto.eco and sustaincapecod.com platforms and in contest publicity.
